Iris Caltwait’s new album marks her first release under the new moniker, previously releasing music under ‘iris'. Her long awaited sophomore album, «Again, for the first time» was released on November 7th and immediately received a perfect 6/6 review from NRK P3, as well as a 5/6 from Klassekampen. The focus track, «Alchemy (Living Is Not For The Heart)», landed the #1 spot along with a playlist cover on New Music Friday Norway, and received global DSP support with additions to playlists reaching over 18 million followers.
Along with the praise from NRK and Klassekampen, international publications like CLASH Magazine, Ones to Watch, Women In Pop, DIY Magazine and The Lune Collective have all shown great support for the album. CLASH wrote «'Again, for the first time’ is a raw mosaic of raw emotions, a slow-burning voyage through grief, rage and regeneration», while Women in Pop states that «Caltwait knows how to use her voice to its greatest effect, keeping its feather-light quality as she glides around her notes.»
«Alchemy (Living Is Not For The Heart)" was selected as one of Spotify Editors’ Best Pop Songs of the Year, while “these are hard times (Say the Words!)” became P3’s Track of the Week and was A-listed on both P3 and P3 Musikk. As Iris Caltwait heads out on a European tour through London, Paris, Berlin, Edinburgh, Stockholm, Copenhagen, and several Norwegian cities, we’re proud to see her music resonate and for her to be recognised as one of the most exciting new voices in Nordic pop.
